Cranberry Orange Jam

Cranberry Orange Jam

Try this tangy, sweet and spiced cranberry orange jam. This easy-to-make recipe takes only 30 minutes to prepare. Enjoy as a topping on yogurt, a spread on toast, or serve with savory or meat dishes.

Makes ~4 cups

Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh cranberries, rinsed
  • 2 medium oranges
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

  • Take one orange and wash, zest, and juice it. Peel the two oranges, remove all white skins and cut oranges into smaller pieces.
  • Place the cranberries, peeled orange pieces, orange zest, orange juice, sugar, and all the spices in a saucepan.
  • Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce heat to low. Stir every 2 to 3 minutes to pop the cranberries and keep the mixture from burning. Simmer for 15 to 20 minutes or until the jam thickens.
  • Carefully pour the hot jam into about 3 small glass jars, up to the top. Cover immediately with lid to create an airtight seal. Let cool. Refrigerate and use within 1 month.
