Type: Part-Time. 24 Hours a week
The South Royalton Market, an independent food cooperative, is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Bookkeeper. This role involves providing financial information to management by researching and analyzing sales and accounting data, producing financial statements, and ensuring that all financial reporting deadlines are met. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining, developing, and implementing financial best practices in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- This person would be responsible for accurately entering A/P invoices and tracking open accounts.
- reconciling the bank and credit card statements, filing monthly Sales Tax
- Enter Cash Receipts
- Enter Cash Disbursements
- Accounts payable & Checks on delivery
- Prepare monthly profit & loss and balance sheets
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliation
- Prepare sale tax returns
- Work with vendors to resolve shipping or invoicing errors
Requirements:
- Expertise in QuickBooks or other accounting software
- Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles
- Experience with creating financial statements
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Excellent accounting software and administration skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
- Advanced spreadsheet knowledge
Desired:
- 3+ years of experience as an accountant/Bookkeeper
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or a relevant field
- Experience working in the Grocery industry and Cooperatives
