April
Department Manager: Health and Beauty
A Texas native, I now have a house in Randolph with my husband Brian, son Aidan, and two rescue huskies, Phoenix and Meeko. After surviving many blistering summers growing up, I fell in love with the magical snows of Vermont. I have a degree in Professional Writing from Champlain College and have written several books as April Patterson Clemens, including the Saffron Ellis Mystery Series. I’m also a singer-songwriter under the same name and have an album out, Heart in a Golden Cup.
My greatest love lately is crafting, including making polymer clay jewelry for my brand Carnaby & Bellwether, which I sell right here at the Co-op. During the summer I can be found in one of my many flower beds and my ultimate dream is to turn our two acres into one huge botanical garden (sigh).
I love running the HABA department, absolutely love it! The co-op is a great atmosphere to work in, including everything from my eclectic co-workers to the diverse customers and the wonderful homey, woodsy overall feel. It’s truly a cozy haven.
