Happy free cheese sample Thursday! During mud season you have to create your own local entertainment. Boy did we entertain ourselves while enjoying today’s offering of local, organic Mad River Blue, from von Trapp Farmstead Cheese! With a little inspiration from a Seinfeld birthday card that we have on the shelf currently, we were feeling anything but blue. Our palettes experienced all sorts of inspiring notes of butter, salt, anise, cacao, dried fruits and minerals from deep in the Earth where the healthy, happy cows whose milk made this madterpiece possible, graze. How lucky we are to be Vermonters and to have Seinfeld and excellent, local cheese!
