Our Own, Amy Abeyta’s Woodsy Work is on our Art Wall!

Walks in nature are also art material collection opportunities for this artist and you will se why. This show is a must see. You will feel transported into the wild wood! Here is what Amy has to say about this show.

This particular body of work is made primarily with foraged materials that I found where I live. Materials such as: mushrooms, lichens, feathers, flowers, animal hair, wasp nests, unusual pieces of wood, grapevine, etc.

I have been interested in ideas of impermanence and connections to and observations of the natural world. I reconfigure the organic materials that I forage and create new, unsettling, somewhat playful and curious objects.

My photographs often inform my sculptures and I am particularly interested in how the brain perceives and interprets forms and faces in common objects and materials.
