SUMMARY:Our Gal Amy Abeyta is our October Artist!
DESCRIPTION:Walks in nature are also art material collection opportunities for this artist and you will se why. This show is a must see. You will feel transported into the wild wood! Here is what Amy has to say about this show. \nMy name is Amy Abeyta. I work here at the Coop as a cashier and have my art studio in Randolph Center\, VT. \nThis particular body of work is made primarily with foraged materials that I found where I live. Materials such as: mushrooms\, lichens\, feathers\, flowers\, animal hair\, wasp nests\, unusual pieces of wood\, grapevine\, etc. \nI have been interested in ideas of impermanence and connections to and observations of the natural world. I reconfigure the organic materials that I forage and create new\, unsettling\, somewhat playful and curious objects. \nMy photographs often inform my sculptures and I am particularly interested in how the brain perceives and interprets forms and faces in common objects and materials.
